“AnyWare” Ordering

Domino’s Pizza has been hailed as a tech company as much as it has been a food company. I had the pleasure of working with both client and agency CP+B in helping spearhead that reputation as we continuously innovated on new ways to order pizza. These are real innovations to order pizza, not just proofs of concepts or one off marketing stunts. www.anyware.dominos.com

  • I helped evolve saved orders and account info with Domino’s in a way that worked with the latest tech to order pizza. Domino’s was a pioneer in the online ordering space and I integrated account security, ordering API info, and unique tech requirements with each platform I designed for.

  • I regularly presented to Domino’s digital leadership, collaborating in workshops or on conference calls to make sure both teams were involved every step of the way.

  • I worked across a variety of devices, channels, and teams to deliver award winning experiences. (Cannes Lion, D&AD)

The term “AnyWare” was a play on “hardware” to order “anywhere”. This served as an umbrella to put the ordering innovations under, while helping distinguish from traditional ordering channels (web and app). Domino’s AnyWare continues to evolve, building off of the foundation I helped lay for these ordering initiatives.

SMART TV ORDERING

Pizza could be ordered easily without interrupting whatever is on the screen.

Domino’s Tracker could track your order directly on screen, with option to minimize to bottom of screen to maximize view space.


ZERO CLICK ORDERING

“Zero Click” ordering didn’t mean “zero information”. I worked to make sure key decision making information was available at a glance and further in the app if desired.

Creating an Easy Order

So we’ve got all this tech to place an order easily using your “Easy Order”, great. What is an Easy Order and how do you make one? Our definition used on dominos.com:

An Easy Order is the fastest way to order from Domino's. What you want, how you want to get it, and how you want to pay for it is all saved so it's simpler than ever to order next time.

It was Domino’s version of a “favorite order”. Now that we know what it is, how do we make one?

  • I worked with Domino’s on creating a flow that would not disrupt traditional e-comm order intent.

    • User indicates intent by “opting in” to a creation flow (shown below).

    • Creating an Easy Order leverages the information stored in the Pizza Profile to enable one click, tap, or invocation ordering as seen above.

    • Even in the traditional order flow, users can save their placed order as an Easy Order. They can also “promote” a recent order to one.
